2 Study Guide Understanding the correct order of topic sentences for an argumentative/persuasive paper How to flip a thesis statement (see video tutorial) Introductions.  Be able to complete an introduction when there are some parts missing.  See "Writing introductions for argumentative.ppt" Elements of a well done introduction.  See "Writing introductions for argumentative.ppt" The correct numbering and lettering in an alphanumeric outline.  See "outline_alphanumeric_purdue_owl.pdf" Paraphrasing using Focus Question Sheets -- You will write three paraphrases (Be sure that you know the difference between a Primary Research Question and a Focus Question)

3 Write a body paragraph based on your paraphrasing research
Write a body paragraph based on your paraphrasing research. See video tutorial. (Incorporating Concrete Details and Commentary) Note:  You will be given the Focus Question idea.  You will have to successfully convert the Focus Question into a topic sentence for the body paragraph.  (The topic is clearly stated in the focus question sheet, but it is not in the form of a complete sentence) Your body paragraph will include a topic sentence. Your body paragraph will include two to three concrete details. You will have the correct ratio of CD to CM. You will include a CS. You will mark the parts of the paragraph in color according to the Jane Schaffer writing strategy. You will have the necessary space to write a rough draft and a final draft of the paragraph.  (The final draft is the one that counts.)
