First, submit your independent reading ½ sheet to the homework bin.
Review the four types of conflict in your I.A.N.
Read and answer “Types of Conflict Worksheet #1”.
Be prepared to answer the first two questions as a class.

3. Language Arts – Work Session 09/01/17
Essential Question: How can change be significant? What makes a good story?
Standard: ELASE6RL2 – Determine a theme or central idea of a text and how it is conveyed through particular details; provide a summary of the text distinct from personal opinions or judgments.
Learning Targets: Define the concept of change through the reading of a narrative. Apply understanding of narrative elements to reading and writing.

4. Language Arts – Closing Session 09/01/17
Types of Conflict Worksheet 1
Use your I.A.N. pages and your E.L.A. terms section to help you answer these questions.
If you do not finish this worksheet in class, you must take it home for homework.
This worksheet is due by Tuesday (09/05/17).
If you finish the worksheet early, submit it to the homework bin and begin your new, independent reading book and new independent reading ½ sheet.

Independent Reading
You must start a new book and a new independent reading ½ sheet today.
This second sheet is due three weeks from now, on September 22, 2017.
That means that you should have your new book completed prior to that date!
Also, add this deadline to your agenda for September 22, 2017.
