6 BOOK REVIEW Purpose: To apply your knowledge of the plot structure and develop your own conclusions about the novel. Directions: Pretend as though The New York Times asked you to write a book review for the novel you were assigned. You accept the job and now you need to follow the steps below to get it published. Using your extended plot structure diagram as a guide, write a 2-3 page book review that reveals your opinion of the novel. Use quotes and examples from the text to support your opinion. For example, if you loved the novel, explain why using detailed evidence from the book. Avoid grammatical errors. Provide three (3) specific reasons WHY you did or did not enjoy the book. Each reason should be its own paragraph. Think of this project a way to persuade OR dissuade someone else to read the book. Use descriptive language that accurately describes the novel and creates an image for your audience. Refer to your extended plot structure to summarize the novel briefly (just enough to entice your audience, but not too much or it will give the story away)!
