Essential Questions: How can talking and working with others help one analyze a novel? How do internal and external forces help people grow? Elect your position on these claims. Support your claim with logical reasoning and relevant evidence.

6 Language Arts – Work Session 01/24/18
Novel Studies – Characterization S.T.E.A.L. Fill in the blanks for the definition of characterization using the two definitions below it. Hint: What do the definitions have in common? Now, read through the numbers. Circle the verbs in 1-5. Write the letters of the acronym next to the numbers. Example: S=1 What could the S represent? What about the T? Hint: Look at the verbs you circled.

7 Language Arts – Work Session 01/24/18
Novel Studies – Sentence Starters First, write “Sentence Starters for Reader Response” on your Writing Strategies T.O.C. for page 110. Then, trim all of the margins, and cut off the bottom of the page from “Developed by…” on so that it will fit on page 110. Next, glue this trimmed sheet to page 110. Put today’s date at the top. Read through them and write stars next to the sentence starters you believe you’ll use the most. These will help you with your double-entry journals.
