Essential Questions: How can talking and working with others help one analyze a novel? How do internal and external forces help people grow? Standard: ELASE6RL1 – Cite textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text. Learning Targets: Identify claims. Elect your position on these claims. Support your claim with logical reasoning and relevant evidence.

Synthesis Posters – Gallery Walks Complete each of the boxes using a DIFFERENT poster. When you finish all of the boxes under question 3, read and complete “Writing to Sources: Explanatory Text”. You may write this paragraph on the back of your sheet, but be sure to label it “Writing to Sources: Explanatory Text”. Also, be sure to cover all of the bulleted items in the instructions. In addition, you will also write a summarized paragraph about what you have learned thus far from the novel about changes. Think about the main character’s changes, life experiences, your perspective on the character, etc. Label this paragraph “Independent Reading Checkpoint”. Lastly, identify the number of the poster you liked best and explain why it was the best, in your opinion.
