Learn about the work of Roy Lichtenstein and how to produce work in his style Learn about the importance of design work Learn to produce a final design idea Develop 3D making skills What I’m looking for… A completed final design idea for a word sculpture inspired by Roy Lichtenstein Your letter drawn and cut out ready to start making 3D

3 PEER ASSESSMENT Swap your sketchbook with another person who is on the same differentiation level as you. 3 minutes Look at their design ideas work. Using your personal judgement, assess this work using the criteria opposite. Give a positive comment or some advice for improvement on the progression sheet in the back of their book. Assessment Criteria: Creative and original designs (each one different) Good use of different fonts Good use of backgrounds Good colour scheme (no more than 4 used)

6 30 minutes Thinking about the feedback you have received and your own self-assessment feedback, draw a final design which combines all the best features from your design ideas. Colour this in.

7 5 minutes Watch a teacher demonstration of how to start making your word sculpture. 7

8 Assign each member of the group a letter
Draw your letter so that it fills the card Cut this out Draw around your cut out letter Cut this letter out so you end up with 2 identical shapes. 30 minutes

10 3 minutes Turn to the back of your sketchbook and thinking about the learning objectives from the start of the lesson, tick each statement that you feel confident you have learnt. Now at the right-hand side, write down one specific thing that you have learnt today that you didn’t know before.
