1 What’s New in EMUI 9.0

2 EMUI 9.0 comes with a host of new features and design changes.
This is a summary of some of the major new things to look out for in EMUI. Note: Some of these designs may be subject to change. Page 2

3 Easy Projection Page 3 Easy Projection just became easy.
In the past, Easy Projection required a wired connection between the phone and TV. Now Easy Projection includes wired and wireless projection. Page 3

4 Easy Projection includes two modes: Phone and Desktop.
Phone mode basically mirrors the phone screen to the TV. Great for movies and games. Desktop mode lets you use your phone like a computer, offering full desktop functionality. Desktop mode Page 4

5 Easy Projection Easy Projection now comes with a pointer feature. This lets you use your phone as a pointer for PowerPoint presentations. You can also draw on the screen by holding and dragging the cursor. . Page 5

6 Huawei Keychain . Huawei Keychain is basically the same as Apple’s keychain. In essence it is a cloud-synced autofill feature. It keeps usernames up to date across all of your devices. Page 6

7 Huawei Keychain . You can set Huawei Keychain as your default autofill tool. You can set a password that needs to be entered before usernames and passwords are autofilled. You can turn the feature on or off for individual apps Page 7

8 New lock screen password design
The lock screen password settings have been redesigned. Instead of being given the choice of PIN, password, or pattern at the start, the default option is now PIN. You have to touch “Change unlock method” to switch to another unlock type. You can make a custom Pin with up to 16 digits. Passwords and patterns are still supported. . Old New Page 8

10 Calendar You can now view weather and location in calendar events.
It’s also easier to manage calendars across different accounts . Page 10

13 Contacts The Contacts app now gives you “Smart suggestions”.
You can slide down a list of frequent contacts from the top of the screen. Just tap a person to call them. Recommended contacts are generated automatically after one week. You can remove contacts from the list. . Page 13

14 There is now a in-built translation feature in the app. The translator is powered by Microsoft. Language can be auto-detected. You can insert the translation into the body of the with one touch. . also lets you create and manage groups. Page 14

15 Clock Clock has been given a nice makeover.

16 Camera Page 16 Three major adjustments in Camera so far:
1. Support for three-stage zoom (wide-standard-tele) 2. Reorganized settings menus (different menus depending on camera/mode) 3. Redesigned “i” tips: Tips now include pictures and text instead of just text. . Page 16

17 Phone Manager Phone Manager has also been given a nice makeover, though the design has not been finalized yet. Most of the changes in Phone Manager involve simplification of UI language and menu reorganization. . Page 17

19 Unlock your car with your phone
A new feature lets you unlock your car doors using your phone. The feature lets you install third-party apps from different car makers. . Page 19

It can tell that you’re alive. More secure than fingerprint. And it’s really fast. . Page 20

Huawei is introducing new measures for rating apps. Apps that meet certain security standards earn a “Green” or “Pure” tag. This a move that takes Huawei closer to Apple in terms of app/app store management. “Pure” apps . Page 21
