1 “Day A” April 10, 2018 8:01 - 9:01 Math 9:03 - 10:03 Science
8: :01 Math 9: :03 Science 10: :05 Exploratory 11:07 -12:09 12:11-12:41 Social Studies LUNCH (3rd Lunch) 12: :43 English 1: :45 locker

2 Do now: 4, 6, 10, 11, 14, 15 Take out H.W. and leave on desk.
Calculate the M.A.D. of the following data (round to nearest hundredth). Record your answer on the bubble sheet: 4, 6, 10, 11, 14, 15

3 I will be able to: Calculate the mean using addition and division So that I can: apply this knowledge to interpret the data and compute the Mean Absolute Deviation of a data set. I will show that I understood it by successfully completing at least 1 real world problem for the group project with my partners with at least 80% accuracy. 6.SP. A.2 6.SP. A.3 6.SP. A.4 6.SP. A.5

4 Language Objective By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the language domains of listening, speaking, reading and writing. They will listen to and verbally communicate with their partners to discuss how to calculate the mean using addition and division and then apply this information in order to find the (MAD) of a data set. They will show their understanding by successfully interpreting the data and by completing at least 1 real world problem with their partners with at least 80% accuracy. Academic Math Language Vocabulary: data point, distance between data point, deviation, mean, average, mean absolute deviation (MAD).

5 Mini-lesson pg. 64 18 * 7 = 126 126/7 =18 Mean: 18
The mean is 𝟏8 pounds. There is no variability. All of the data values are equal

6 How do you feel? topic.

7 Students will work in groups to complete the assigned problems from pages 67-75.

8 Today, you will be completing the assigned problems from lessons 10 or 11.
You will work together to solve each problem on your pages, and then transfer the work neatly onto the chart paper. You will then participate in a gallery walk, in which you will spend about 3 minutes at each chart and evaluate the work of the other groups. Do you agree or disagree with their answers and why?

9 Problems to complete Group 1: pgs. 67-68 #5 (all)-6
Group 5: pg. 73 #7 and 8 Group 6: pg. 75 #2 Work together this is a PROJECT GRADE!

10 How do you feel? topic.

11 I can use my examples to help!
Homework: Handout (lesson 11 TTG)

12 Exit Ticket Handout

13 Accommodations Read or reread presentation or activity directions, as needed or after prompting Use examples to model and act as a guide for emerging learners
