1 Mrs. Fulton’s 3rd Grade Leaders
Pin this to your fridge so you know what’s going on! August 22, 2016 ~~ SPECIAL NEWS AND NOTES ~~ Special News & Notes HELLO PARENTS & GUARDIANS … WELCOME TO THE SCHOOL YEAR … AND TO THE 3RD GRADE!!! I am really looking forward to spend time getting to know you and your children. You may find that there are some changes when it comes to 3rd grade. We will be working a lot on social skills, as “our” kids are now at the developmental age where they should be able to learn to communicate their feelings in a more mature way and interact with each other politely and positively. This will be critical as they spend more time working together in small groups and with partners. Academics will be a lot different, too. In 1st and 2nd grade students are learning to read, but in 3rd grade they start reading to learn. This is not always an easy transition, so please be patient and understand that this often has an impact on a child’s grades. Dress Code – Please be sure to review the dress code on the information sheet that came home to first day of school and is detailed in the Code of Conduct. Compliance is being stressed this year. A couple of things to remember: +pants, shorts, skirts, jumpers need to be navy blue or khaki (jeans on Fridays only) +shirts need to have a collar or need to be a Sawgrass Bay school shirt; they can be white, blue, red, or pink (spirit shirts … class shirts, leader shirts, etc. can only be worn on Fridays) +hair needs to be a natural hair color only (whether dyed or not) Cupcakes & Goodies – Due to the large number of students in our school, we are requesting that cupcakes/ goodies be sent for birthdays only. Because of food allergies, all baked goods must be store bought. You will need to supply your own plates, forks, napkins, etc., as the cafeteria cannot supply them. Thank you for your understanding.
