Reading/Lang. Arts – Mrs. Fulton I am sure you have heard that the new Florida State Standards allow student to go into more depth, which allows them to understand a skill or subject more fully. This next Reading Unit is an example of this depth. We are returning to character traits, which we learned about in Unit 1, but this time we will be using these character traits to determine how they impact stories. For instance, how do a character’s traits determine their actions, and how do their actions determine what happens in a story. Here are some questions to ask when you are reading with your child: 1.How would you describe this character? (personality traits rather than physical traits) 2.Why do you think the character did that? 3.Did the character’s traits have anything to do with what the character did? Science – chapter 4 lesson checks (quiz) as we go through the lessons. READING/LA HOMEWORK All of the Smart 7 Strategies have to be used to get credit for homework!
