A New Year's resolution is a tradition, most common in the Western Hemisphere, in which a person resolves to change an undesired trait or behavior, to accomplish a personal goal or otherwise improve their life.

Humans are creatures of Habit and Routine Routines: New Day, New Week, New Month, New Year These give us the opportunity to “Start Fresh” Imagine how hard life would be if it was just ONE LONG DAY? The New Year makes it easier psychologically to “Start Fresh”. Tricks our Brain

Only 10% stick to them I see this at the Gym EVERY YEAR

14 Your Task 1. Complete the Graphic Organizer by developing 3 New Year’s Resolutions for yourself that are WELL THOUGHT OUT 2. Turn your graphic organizer into a 3 paragraph report

My Resolution is to Lose 20 pounds of fat by the start of the summer

1. I want to fit into some of my favorite clothes that are now too tight on me. 2. I want to be lighter and more athletic so that I can participate in more of my favorite sports 3. I want to look and feel healthier and more energetic, so that I may maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle as I grow older

18 Mr. Meyer’s Example HOW will I be able to accomplish this?
1. I will go to the gym a minimum of 3 days every week and will spend at least 90 minutes there every time 2. I will cut down on snacks and unhealthy foods such as chips and pizza, and will ensure that I eat more fruits, vegetables, and proteins 3. I will weigh myself every morning to monitor my progress, and will adjust my diet appropriately depending on my weight
