What factors contributed to urbanization? (why did ppl move to cities) = AT LEAST 2 reasons 2. What were the problems that resulted from rapid urban growth? 3. What thing (vocab word) offered solutions, but in a bad way, how were they corrupt?

1. People moved to cities for jobs and because of farm technology in rural areas. African Americans also moved North to cities because of discrimination in the South. 2. Some of the problems of rapid urbanization were: pollution, overcrowded tenements, diseases, crime, transportation, fires and sanitation. 3. Political machines offered solutions to these problems by promising to help immigrants and building things they need like fire houses and police stations, but they were corrupt because they would only help if they got votes or money.
