iPhone iOS7 Setup and Activation

Hello When the device is turned on, the first screen you will see is the iPhone Hello screen. On this screen you will see a small blue “i” with a circle around it. If you tap on this you will see a box pop up that provides the MEID.

Language On the this screen you will be asked to choose a language. Country You will be asked to choose a country.

Wi-Fi/iTunes The next option is to connect to a Wi-Fi network if you have one. If you have a Wi- Fi network where you're activating, your iPhone tap on it and enter the Wi-Fi network’s password (if it has one). Your iPhone will remember the password going forward and you will be able to connect to that network any time you are in range. If you don't have a Wi-Fi network nearby, swipe to the bottom of this screen. There you will see an option to use iTunes. Tap that and plug your iPhone into your computer with the provided USB cable. It is best you do this on the computer you're going to sync your phone with going forward.

Location Services On this screen you will be asked if you want to Enable or Disable location services. Set Up As New iPhone - This is your choice if you haven't had an iPhone, iPad, or iPod before. This means you're starting completely from scratch. Restore from iCloud Backup - If you haven't had an iOS device before this doesn't apply to you. However, if you've used iCloud to backup your data, apps, and other content from other devices, choose this to download the data from your iCloud account to your iPhone. Restore from iTunes Backup - Again, this won't work if you haven't had an iPhone, iPod, or iPad before. If you have you can install your apps, music, settings, and other data on your new iPhone from the backups that already exist on your PC. This isn't required--you can always set up as new if you want--but it's an option that makes the transition to a new device smooth. Set Up

Apple ID You will be asked to enter an existing Apple ID or create a new one. Your Apple ID is an account that you will use for a lot of things, from purchasing songs or downloading apps in iTunes to using iCloud. Apple ID Skip You do have the ability to skip this step and perform this action later. You can go online and create an Apple ID to sign in with at a later time. https://appleid.apple.com/cgi- bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ https://appleid.apple.com/cgi- bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/

Terms and Conditions You will be asked to agree to iOS Terms and Conditions. Tap Agree. Agree When you tap Agree you should see a pop up in which you will need to tap Agree again to proceed to the next step.

Create a Passcode You will be asked to create a passcode. This is a four-digit password that has to be entered when you turn on your iPhone and prevents anyone who doesn't know it from using your device. You can skip this by tapping Don’t Add Passcode. Continue If you select “Don’t Add Passcode” you will see the screen shown below. Tap “Continue” to move on with the setup process.

Diagnostics You can choose to Automatically Send or Don’t Send Diagnostics & Usage. For more information on this you can tap the “About Diagnostics and Privacy” link on the screen. Welcome to iPhone When you have completed all setup steps you will see this screen. Tap Get Started.

Home Screen When you have completed the Setup and tapped Get Started you will then see the iPhone home screen. Select the green phone icon to take you to the dial-pad. Error It is common to get the error shown below. You will need to select Ignore. Activation Once you are on the dial-pad and have selected Ignore (if you received the error) you will dial *22890 to perform the OTA.

Your iPhone should now be ready to use!
