4 Before starting your application, you must:
Have your identity document(s) notarized by a lawyer or notary public: One piece of ID (birth certificate, passport or driver’s license) with your FULL name (no initials, must include middle name if applicable) Marriage or change of name certificate, if applicable If you have already submitted identification documents as part of an employed student nurse (ESN) application you do not need to resubmit them, unless you have changed your name. 7 Applying to BCCNP Apply Online: Registration for B.C. Grads
Create account and/or sign-in to existing account Select practicing RN registration Application takes approx minutes (not including Jurisprudence) Upload notarized identity document(s) Indicate if you want to apply for provisional registration Declare you have completed the Jurisprudence Learning Module Pay the application fee of $212 + GST Copyright 2018

After submitting your application, you will be notified by Your application is complete, just waiting on verification of program completion, or Additional information and/or documentation is needed Once we receive verification of program completion and your application is complete, you are eligible: to write the NLCEX-RN for provisional registration Copyright 2018

9 Provisional RN Registration
Authorizes you to practice before you have passed NCLEX-RN Use title RN(P) or RN Provisional. Granted for maximum one year – no extensions Must write and pass NCLEX-RN Will expire after 2nd unsuccessful exam attempt and employer will be informed. Note: you do not need provisional RN registration to write the exam. Copyright 2018

Apply for Provisional Registration (PR) on your BC Grad application BCCNP receives Verification of Nursing Program Completion sent with link to finalize PR (link valid for 90 days) Choose PR start date to determine fee (next slide) Pay fee, receive confirmation PR converted to practising registration upon passing NCLEX Copyright 2018

Application Process Step 1: Register at: when eligible and prepared to write Step 2: Receive Authorization to Test (ATT) from Pearson Vue (Note: the ATT is valid for 90 days, no extensions) Step 3: Choose writing center location and schedule date within the 90-day validity period stated on ATT. Step 4: Write exam Step 5: Exam Results ed by BCCNP within 1 week of exam date PASS – Includes result and information about next steps in registration process FAIL – Includes result only. Follow-up within 1 week of initial result that includes a performance report and information about provisional registration and eligibility to retake the exam. Copyright 2018

16 WHAT IF…? I don’t want to write the exam right away?
Do not register with Pearson Vue unless you plan to write the exam within 90 days I want to request special accommodations? Contact Christy before registering with Pearson Vue. You cannot receive ATT until all required documentation received and request approved I fail the NCLEX? 1st Fail – Must notify employer. Eligible to write again after 45 days 2nd Fail – PR Expires. Eligible to write again after 45 days AND after PR has expired 3rd+ Fail – No limit to number of attempts. Need valid file and competence Copyright 2018
