So I can solve one-step addition or subtraction equations using the tape diagrams and check to determine if the solutions make the equations true. I will show that I understood it by successfully completing at least 8 out of the 10 tape diagrams independently or with my partner. 6.EE.B.7

Language Objective By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the language domains of reading and writing to communicate the academic math language of one-step addition or subtraction equations using the tape diagrams. Students will be able to verbally communicate and write using the tape diagrams and check to determine if the solutions make the equations true. They will show their understanding when they can successfully completing at least 8 out of the 10 tape diagrams independently or with their partners. Academic Math Language Vocabulary: one-step addition, subtraction, equation, expression.
