2 Part I Directions and Advice
Your goal is to create a series of slides which describes the process of how England went from an absolute monarchy to a constitutional monarchy. In essence, you are creating a storyboard of key events, ideas, and people. Before creating the slides, think about creating an outline, timeline and/or storyboard. Each slide must contain a minimum of 1 illustration. The purpose of illustrations are to give the reader a deeper understanding of your message. Illustrations are not just pictures of famous people. They can include graphs, charts, political cartoons, graphic organizers etc. Choose your words carefully. Remember this is a slide presentation and not an essay! There is no minimum or maximum number of slides. However, the project must include all of the key terms, people, and events (listed on the next slide). This is not a research project. All information should come from class resources. Check homework site or ask teacher to review any handouts.

4 Getting Started Create a title slide. Make up a title to the project. Include your name, date , period. Add an image or images which capture the “essence of the project” Number each of your slides After completing the slides you will proceed to Part II of the project. Answer each writing prompt using 3 to 5 complete sentences. Respond to the prompt directly and use specific evidence.

Grading Part I Slides 50 points in Project Category meets all the requirements of the assignment. Descriptions are accurate and the images are appropriate.Additional images, animation, background is added to gain interest of the subject. some requirements not met. A few descriptions are incomplete or inaccurate. Little to no additional images, background, etc. is added. Below 35 Half or more of the requirements not met. Turned in late. Grading Part II SAQ (short answer questions) – each question should be answered in 3 to 5 sentences points per question in Writing Category 8 -10 points answer directly responds to prompt and uses specific evidence as support. 5-7 points answer responds directly to prompt however is lacks specific evidence Below 5 answer does not respond directly to prompt. Contains either false or no evidence

6 Part II SAQ Did the citizens of England make the correct decision to execute Charles I? How was the overthrow of Charles I different from the overthrow of James II? How did Parliament make sure that there would never be a king who ruled by “divine right” again? How did the English Civil War (you can include the Glorious Revolution and English Bill of Rights as well) contribute to the development of democracy in the world?
