3. Regulatory Framework of the radiation safety
The legislative basis for radiation safety in Bulgaria is Act on the Safe Use of Nuclear Energy (ASUNE,2002)
In 2010 the Bulgarian Parliament adopted the Act on amendment and supplement of the Act on Safe Use of Nuclear Energy (ASUNE, SG, No.80 of ).
This Act covers the activities associated with the state regulation of the safe use of nuclear energy and ionizing radiation and with the safety of radioactive waste management and spent fuel management.

Scenario
After 35 exposures of welds, when retracting the source, the remote control (cranck) gives a defect, because there is a problem with the magnetic retainer. The result was that the source was stuck in the guide tube. The radiographer applied emergency procedures.
After performing 17 exposures of welds, a radiographer trays to retract the source assembly but he has detected with his survey meter that the source has not been retracted in the exposure container. Appropriate emergency procedures put in action. 9
