1 Timothy 1:1-4 “No Other Doctrine”
2
1 Timothy 1:1-4 1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope; 2 Unto Timothy, my own son in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord. 3 As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine, 4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do. Introduction The Gospel (doctrine) Of Christ Was… Heaven sent
2 Timothy 3:16-17 Was committed To Paul by revelation Ephesians 3:3-5; Galatians 1:11-12 Was promised before the ages began Titus1:1-2 Was manifested by preaching in due time Titus 1:3; 1 Peter 1:25 Was put in the trust of the apostles by God 1 Thessalonians 2:4-13 2 Tim. 3: All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. Eph. 3: How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, 4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; Gal. 1: But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. 12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Titus 1:1-2 - Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; 2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; Titus 1:3 - But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour. 1 Pet. 1:25 - But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you. 1 Thess. 2: READ "No Other Doctrine"

Introduction God’s Word Warns of Other Doctrines
The Doctrine of the Pharisees & Sadducees Matthew 16:6-12 The Doctrines & Commandments of Men Matthew 15:7-9, 13 The Doctrine of Balaam & The Nicolaitans Revelation 2:4-6, 12-16 All Such Doctrines Are Condemned By God - Galatians 1:8-9; 2 John 9-11 Matt. 16: READ Matt. 15:7-9, 13 - Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, 8 This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. 9 But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. Rev. 2:4-6 - Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 5 Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent. 6 But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. Rev. 2: READ Gal. 1: I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. 2 Jn Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. Is The One Faith (Gospel)
The One Faith (Gospel) Excludes Any Other Doctrines - Ephesians 4:4-6 False teachers taught that circumcision was necessary to be saved - Acts 15 The Galatians were rebuked by Paul for believing “another gospel” Galatians 1:6-9; 3:1; 5:1-7 No Other Doctrine Eph. 4:4-6 - There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Acts 15 - READ COMMENT Gal. Gal. 3:1 - O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you? Conforms To God’s Truth
The Scriptures are The Truth John 17:17 Teaching Must Be “Sound” 1 Timothy 1:10; Philippians 3:1-3 Colossians 2:10-14 It Must Be “Good” 1 Timothy 4:6 It Must Be Given Attendance To 1 Timothy 4:13 It Must Be Continued In 1 Timothy 4:16 No Other Doctrine Jn. 17:17 - Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 1 Tim. 1:10 - For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; “sound” - hugiaino, hoog-ee-ah'-ee-no - to have sound health, i.e. be well (in body); figuratively, to be uncorrupt (true in doctrine):--be in health, (be safe and) sound, (be) whole(-some). - Strong Phil. 3:1-3 - Finally, my brethren, rejoice in the Lord. To write the same things to you, to me indeed is not grievous, but for you it is safe. 2 Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the concision. 3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. Col. 2: And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: 11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: 12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. 13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 1 Tim. 4:6 - If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained. 1 Tim. 4:13 - Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. 1 Tim. 4:16 - Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. Purifies The Soul No Other Doctrine The Gospel Purifies
1 Peter 1:22-23; Acts 15:7-10; 20:26 The “Pure In Heart” are “Blessed” Matthew 5:8; Hebrews 10:22 Obedient Saints Have A Pure Heart Philippians 4:8; James 3:17 1 John 3:2-3; 2 Peter 3:1-2; 2 Timothy 2:22 No Other Doctrine 1 Peter 1: Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. Acts 15: And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe. 8 And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us; 9 And put no difference between us and them, purifying their hearts by faith. 10 Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? Acts 20:26 - Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. Matt. 5:8 - Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. Heb. 10:22 - Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Phil. 4:8 - Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Jas. 3:17 - But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. 1 Jn. 3:2-3 - Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure. 2 Pet. 3:1-2 - This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance: 2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour: 2 Tim. 2:22 - Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart. Saves Sinners No Other Doctrine Doctrine Is Essential To Salvation
What We Believe Matters - Acts 5:29; 4:12 The Doctrine Taught By Jesus and His Apostles Saves Acts 2:38-39, 41-42; John 5:24; 1 Jn. 5:10 This Doctrine is The Saving Gospel Acts 13:4-13; Colossians 1:5 Romans 1:16-17; Ephesians 1:13 No Other Doctrine Acts 5:29 - Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men. Acts 4:12 - Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 2:38 - Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. Acts 2: Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. 42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. Jn. 5:24 - Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. 1 Jn. 5:10 - He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. Acts 13: READ - “the word of God” vss. 5, 7; “the faith” - vs. 8; “the right ways of the Lord” - vs.10; “the doctrine of the Lord” - vs. 12 Col. 1:5 - For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel; Rom. 1: For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Eph. 1:13 - In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, "No Other Doctrine"
