2. Extemporaneous Speaking:
A presentation that is carefully prepared and practiced in advance.
Previously planned but delivered with the help of few or no notes.
Your notes should contain key words or phrases to remind you of the
important ideas. When using your notes it helps jog your memory and
remind you where you were in the speech. It will also allows you to
adjust the time, you can add or drop information depending on
how your audience is responding.

Role in a Play
Interview
Speech
News reporting

5. Impromptu Speaking:
A delivery method that is completely unrehearsed; “speaking of the cuff” is the nickname for this. The speaker uses no notes and relies to his or her ability to offer an immediate verbal response.

6. How to prepare? Your speech is already written!
You are not likely to be asked to give an impromptu speech unless you know the subject, so you are already ahead of the game!
Your speeches are shaped by your experiences throughout your life, who you are, what you are, what you believe in, your thoughts.
When you walk to the front to deliver your speech, don’t forget! You’ve actually been preparing that speech… all your life

8. There Are Rules!
Your speech may be off the cuff but you should still stick to the rules.
First, your speech should have a purpose
Second, your speech should flow logically.
Here is a simple pattern which should be used for all speeches including impromptu:

9. How to Deliver: Posture; confident stride
Stand in the center or front of the room
Keep good eye contact with your audience
Remain fluent
Although it good to take pauses , no long pauses
Pronunciation and articulation
Pace yourself
