The first principal component (PC1 [x axis]) had a variance of ~26%, and the second principal component (PC2 [y axis]) had a variance of ~14%. (B) Functional enrichment of genes with significant changes in expression levels in men and women. Genes were differentially expressed if the q value was ≤0.05 and the fold change was ≥2. Blue bars represent genes with increased expression in vivo in men compared to women.
