3 New System Setup Walkthrough
Commissioning a new system using the Tigo App 3.1 This quick guide is a walk through of the steps required to commission a Tigo system using the Tigo SMART Mobile App. 3.1

4 Look for the Tigo SMART app
Requires active mobile data connection Go to the App Store or Google Play and search for ‘Tigo SMART’ Download the app and open it once the installation process is complete

5 Enter Your Username and Password, and select ‘Sign In’
Requires active mobile data connection If you do not have one, press Enroll to create a new account. All system data can also be accessed and edited here: Log in before connecting to Cloud Connect via Wi-Fi. GB: add highlights to point at “Enroll” in the app

6 Setup and Monitor Requires active mobile data connection To proceed with a new installation, press + at the top right of the display To service or monitor a system that has already been configured, click on the relevant system Added “monitor”, changed “CC” to system.

7 Setup a New System Site Info
Requires active mobile data connection Fill in system information and select ‘Create System’

8 Setup a New System Verify that ‘Site Info’ is checked
Requires active mobile data connection Verify that ‘Site Info’ is checked Returning to the ‘Site Info’ will show the system now possesses a ‘system ID’ Note: The ‘system ID’ identifies the installation distinctly and always has to be provided for support Note: At this point, the new system is now pending Go to ‘Site Owner Info’

9 Site Owner Info Enter the email address and name of the site owner
Requires active mobile data connection Enter the address and name of the site owner ‘Site Owner Info’ is not mandatory to setup up the new system and can be entered and edited at any time Saving owner info will send an invitation to the site owner to setup and view their commissioned system

10 Select Equipment Requires active mobile data connection After entering ‘Site Owner Info’, verify it has been checked Go to ‘Select Equipment’ Select + at the top right of the display

11 Select Equipment Cloud Connect Advanced
Requires active mobile data connection Select the ‘Cloud Connect Advanced’ (CCA) Enter a unique name for every CCA or leave the default name Enter the number of gateways that are connected to the CCA Changed in 3.1 (new Equipment menu showing “Meters and Sensors”)

12 Select Equipment Cloud Connect Advanced
Requires active mobile data connection Enter the CCA serial number manually or scan the bar code Allow the Tigo app to access the camera Select Done and repeat procedure for every CCA that is in the system

13 Select Equipment Requires active mobile data connection Note: You can change the Cloud Connect serial number here at any time When ‘Cloud Connect Advanced’ has been completed, select ‘Inverter and PV Modules’ Changed for 3.1 version (new menu with “Meters and Sensors”)

14 Select Equipment Inverter and PV Modules
Requires active mobile data connection Name the inverter or leave the default name Choose the inverter model, the number of MPPTs and the connected CCA Select the manufacturer and model of the PV modules Note: If you wish to add inverter or module that’s not in the list click the “+” sign at the top right corner

15 Select Equipment Inverter and PV Modules
Requires active mobile data connection Assign the number of strings and modules to each MPPT Toggle the uneven strings switch if the number of panels in the strings differ Select Done Note: You can change the inverter and module specifications here at any time New slide for version 3.1 – New Feature

16 Configure Layout Verify that ‘Select Equipment’ is checked
Requires active mobile data connection Verify that ‘Select Equipment’ is checked Go to ‘Configure Layout’

18 Configure Layout Place CCA
Requires active mobile data connection Place the CCA by tapping on a position on the layout plan Repeat for all CCA’s and repeat for inverters

19 Configure Layout Place Inverters
Requires active mobile data connection Place inverters by tapping on a position on the layout plan

20 Configure Layout Place Modules
Requires active mobile data connection Place the modules one by one according to their physical placement on site Note: It is highly recommended to place the modules here exactly as they are installed. This will guarantee accurate site map and easier maintenance down the line Note: Press down on a component to change its location After all equipment has been placed, the modules have to be registered Select ‘Register’

21 Configure Layout Register Modules
Requires active mobile data connection Select a gray module in the layout to register it by entering in or scanning its barcode You must register all modules

22 Configure Layout Register Modules
Requires active mobile data connection Enter the module’s serial number manually or scan it Note: You can change the modules serial numbers here at any time

23 Configure Layout Finish the registration of the layout
Requires active mobile data connection Finish the registration of the layout Verify that ‘Configure Layout’ is checked Go to ‘Configure Communication’

24 Configure Communication Connect CCA to Smartphone
No mobile data connection required You can use either a Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connection to connect the smartphone to the CCA To connect the Smartphone to the CCA via Bluetooth tap the serial number of the CCA you wish to connect with Note: Please only use the Tigo Smart App to access devices, never use the phone’s bluetooth pairing screen To connect the smartphone to the CCA via Wi-Fi choose the CCA’s Wi-Fi connection in the phone’s settings Note: Using the Wi-Fi connection disconnects the smartphone from the local Wi-Fi Note: Connecting the phone to the CCA via Wi-Fi mandates leaving the app and coming back to it once done. You do not have to close the app while doing that Once your Smartphone is connected to CCA, go to ‘Next’

25 Configure Communication Connect CCA to Internet
Requires smartphone – CCA connection Note: You can use either an ethernet cable or WI-FI connection to connect the CCA to the Internet To connect the CCA via Wi-Fi choose the local Wi-Fi connection and enter the password Select ‘Run Test’

26 Configure Communication Run CCA Internet Test
Requires active mobile – CCA connection The ‘Run Test’ feature checks the Internet connection of the CCA If there is no ethernet cable connection the displayed test results are positive Select ‘Done’

27 Configure Communication Run Discovery
Requires smartphone– CCA connection Select ‘Next’ in the ‘CCA Network Settings’ to go to ‘Discovery’ Note: Before starting Discovery, make sure that your equipment and layout is completely setup, all serial numbers are correct, everything is electrically properly installed and CCA’s and modules are connected to power supplies and running Select ‘Start’

28 Configure Communication Run Discovery
Requires smartphone – CCA connection Discovery will run in the background. Select ‘Exit’ when ready. You may disconnect from the CCA, and reconnect at a later time to check Discovery progress.

29 Configure Communication
Requires active mobile data connection In case the connection between the smartphone and the CCA is via Wi-Fi, reconnect the smartphone to the local Wi-Fi Verify that ‘Configure Communication’ is checked Select ‘Planned Turn On’

30 Planned Turn On Requires smartphone – CCA connection
If the connection between the smartphone and the CCA is Wi-Fi, reconnect the smartphone to the CCA Select ‘Set Planned Turn On Date’ and choose a day Verify that ‘Planned Turn On’ is now marked off Note: Setting a Planned Turn On Date in the future will put the system in Ready mode. Once the date has passed it will then become active.

31 Set up Inverters, Meters & Sensors
How to set up Modbus access to external equipment This section will show you how to set up access to Modbus devices such as Inverters, Revenue Grade Meters, Weather Stations, and more using the Tigo SMART Mobile App There are two styles of Modbus communication that Tigo supports: Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU. Modbus TCP works over LAN (TCP/IP). Modbus RTU works over a serial line (RS-485).

32 Set up Inverters, Meters & Sensors
This article shows set up for three kinds of devices: Inverters via Modbus TCP Inverters via Modbus RTU Optional Devices via Modbus RTU – RS-485

33 Set up Inverter Monitoring
