Literacy
The children have really enjoyed learning the story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ We have built bear caves and used these to act out the story. We have had lots of fun doing this.
We have also been continuing with our letter formation work and we have noticed a big improvement in the children’s writing. Well done reception.
It was so wonderful to see so many parents at our teddy bears picnic event. The children were very excited to have their parents in school and they have worked really hard throughout the week learning the actions and retelling the story of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt. You should be very proud of them. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
Phonics
This week we have learned the sounds ck e u and r. We have been writing simple words using the sounds we have learned so far.
Maths
Throughout this week we have been learning about 2D shapes. We have made shape pizzas and shape houses.
Star Moments
Please remember to send into school any star moments that have taken place at home. We really enjoy celebrating the children’s achievements wherever they take place.
