4 Language Objective By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the language domains of listening, speaking, reading and writing. They will be able to collect the statistical data to analyze and summarize. They will show that they understood it by using the statistical tool to collect and organize the data with their group with 100% accuracy. Academic Math Language Vocabulary: data, statistical data collection tool, analyze, summarize, graphical model, dot plot, box and whiskers, histogram, bar graph

5 Collecting the Data Working with your groups you will need to collect data from people in your class using your data collection tool at each of the three stations. On Monday, you will work with your partners to organize your data. You will be expected to find the mean, median, mode, range, 5-number summary, interquartile range, box-and-whisker, histogram and dot plot

6 Station 1 Jumping jacks. How many can you do in 1 minute?
Working in a small group you will track and record how many jumping jacks you can complete in 1 minute.

7 Station 2 How long can you stand on 1 foot with your eyes closed?
Closing your eyes, you will lift 1 foot off the floor, and close your eyes. The timer will start and will stop as soon as the foot comes back down. Your time will be recorded.

8 Station 3 Relay race. With a partner, you will keep a balloon between your backs, and will have to go down to the cone and back again. Your time will be recorded in seconds.
