Check the Scene Call For Help Provide Care for the Victim

3 Open Wounds Abrasion-(scrape) Clean Wound, prevent infection
Laceration-(cut) Stop Bleeding, get medical care Puncture-(hole) No External Bleeding, possible internal damage Avulsion-(Partial or complete Separation) Control Heavy Bleeding, Pack body part in ice and in ice water.

4 First Aid For Bleeding Cover Wound with Sterile gauze or cloth
Elevate Wound Add Layers, do not remove bandage Get Medical Help Apply Pressure Point Bleeding Control

8 Burns Can Be Caused by heat, radiation, chemical, sun and electricity
1st Degree Burns: Outer layer of skin , run under cool running water, cover with cool wet towel, cover with bandage. 2nd Degree Burns: Damage to layers of skin, blisters, and area appears blotchy, cool with water, not ice, wrap area loosely, elevate. Do not pop Blisters. 3rd Degree Burns: Deep skin, fat, muscle, nerves and bone may be damaged. Cover the area, call for medical help. Water is only an option in certain instances.

17 Choking Abdominal Thrusts, Quick Inward Upward pulls to the Diaphragm (Under Rip Cage)

18 Sprains & Strains Strain=Injury to Muscle Sprain=Injury to Ligament
Treatment = R.I.C.E. 1. Rest 2. Ice 3. Compression 4. Elevation

19 Sit, No Talking, Lean Forward,
Nose Bleeds Sit, No Talking, Lean Forward, Breath Through Mouth, Pressure
