Do Now: Why did settlers want to move west? HW: How did the dependence on hunting buffalo affect the roles of Indian men and women on the plains?

2 For centuries the Great Plains were home to many groups of Native Americans. Some lived in communities as farmers and hunters, but many were nomads who roamed vast distances, following their main source of food– the buffalo.
