2 Introduction: What is the Academy?
Recreational Academy Competitive The Academy provides a bridge between Recreational and Competitive Soccer with specialized and structured training and limited travel within the area.

3 About Academy This program is specially designed for players that would like to enhance their skills, learn new techniques, and improve current abilities within a professional training/fun age- appropriate environment

5 Program Goals To improve players technical skills (Dribbling, Passing-receiving, 1v1, Shooting/Finishing) The players should be playing a minimum of 50% in all games but highly encourage more. Players will learn to play multiple positions Create a healthy, learning environment

7 Curriculum Academy Training 2007/U10 2008 /U9
Boys: Monday-Wednesday 5:30-7pm Girls: Tuesday- Thursday 5:30-7pm 2 Sessions Per Week Yellow #3 2008 /U9 Boys: Monday-Wednesday 5:30-7pm Girls: Tuesday- Thursday 5:30-7pm 2 Sessions Per Week Yellow #2 Training Organization: Skill-Based Training Footwork, moves, etc. Full-team sessions Skill Stations Goalkeeper training Set-piece training Skills testing Training Organization: Skill-Based Training Footwork, moves, etc. Skills Stations Limited full-team sessions Skills testing Some Set-piece training

8 MSC Staff MSC’s professional staff will apply age/level appropriate training curriculum twice a week. They will focus primarily on foot skills, with the use of fun skill developing activities and small sided games. Your child will learn proper technique and how to execute basic and advanced soccer skills as well as knowing how to use those techniques with a purpose in game situations

9 Parents Expectations /Role
YOU have a big part in this PROCESS- YOU can make this experience wonderful or toxic Limit urge to control everything- let the players learn and grow on their own- it’s their “Soccer Life”  Support the club and coaches Cheer for ALL players- Keep things in perspective Don’t coach from the sidelines. Refrain from criticizing the referees and their decisions. Do NOT embarrass the club- Zero tolerance policy when it comes to refs

10 Parents Expectations /Role continued
We are guests at the children’s game. Give the game back to them! We should focus on the process of playing and development NOT the outcome. Focus on POSITIVE GROWTH, allowing kids to learn from experience. The soccer journey- Big Picture

11 Team Make up 2007/U10 Teams stay together for the entire fall
Teams will mix for all intra-club games/ street soccer, but remain on assigned team for all other games 2008/U9 Teams stay together for the most of the fall, and possibly mix-up for some playdates Teams will mix for all intra-club games/ street soccer.

12 ACADEMY TEAM CAMP All players will be invited to register for Academy Camp: August 11 & 12th. Camp Purpose: Introduce players and parent to coaching staff. Form balance teams FORMATION OF TEAMS: The numbers of players registered will determine how many teams. The MSC coaching staff will use Academy Camp to do the balancing of teams. Players will know the coach assignments and formation of teams by the end of team camp or by first week of practice.

15 Team Fees Coaches Travel Expense
Team Dues to cover tournament fees, referee fees, and coaches travel expenses will be approximately $ per season (spring & fall) depending on distance of travel and team fundraising Manager will Collect
