2 War…What is it Good For? Allowed Great Britain to have massive territorial gains in North America Also Known as the Seven Years War Ended with The Treaty of Paris in 1763 Both the French and British wanted to Expand on the frontier

3 OH My, OHIO… The Ohio River Valley was the Disputed Territory
George Washington was a 22 year old Lieutenant Colonel at the time General Edward Braddock did not lead the British with Force/Unity; ultimately died in Battle near Fort Duquesne (Near Present-day Pittsburgh) on July 13, 1755

5 Brad Pitt’s Cousin British experienced setbacks
William Pitt was the New Head of the British Government; Sent best Generals to north America-the Tide of the Battles Changes Seized Fort Duquesne and renamed it Fort Pitt After the British Leader Battle for Quebec-well-Defended, surprised by General Wolfe and 4000 British September 18, 1759-Quebec surrendered to the British Sealed the French’s fate, but the War Dragged on until 1763

Brought the War to an end Marked the end of French Power in North America Spain gave up Florida to the British (sided with French in 1762) Britain gained Canada and all French lands east of the Mississippi except New Orleans Britain had large war debts….later led to taxes and conflict in the 13 colonies
