Welcome to 2nd grade!!! My name is Mrs.Lanier, and I am so excited to be your partner in education this year. Together I know we can lay the foundation to a successful start in your child’s educational journey. I am blessed to be a part of that journey as we work together to prepare your child for the future.
This is my fourth year teaching 2nd grade.
I live in Millbrook with my husband Mike and our 3 boys Bailey, Talan, and Brock. I enjoy being active and being adventurous with my family.

6. First Week of School School starts Aug 7, 2018.
For the first week, students may come to class at 7:00AM.
The following weeks, your child may enter the building at 7:15.
Students will dismiss at 2:25, all car riders MUST be picked up by 2:45.

Each child will be assigned a 3-5 digit lunch number.
Please try to send money on Mondays and pay weekly or monthly.
MySchoolBucks.com allows you to put money on your child’s account.
*Breakfast will be provided for students every morning in the classroom *

Please send snack & juice from home or purchase from the school daily.
Snack & juice- $1.50
Please send exact amount, I cannot make change.

10. Expectations
In this classroom, I like to keep the kids moving, actively engaged, and cooperating with one another. For this to be successful students should use their best manners, complete all assignments, follow our classroom rules, and always try their best. I use a behavior clip chart in my classroom, students have the opportunity to move up or down depending on behavior. Students that make it to the top will receive a punch card, when it is filled they will receive a special treat from me. Because we move around so much in here and try to do out of seatwork, if a student is asked to clip down, he or she will be asked to return to their seat. Safety first 

11. Take Home Folders
Please check your child’s folder each night. Remove papers from the “keep at home” side and return any that need to be signed. Help your child understand the importance of organization.
A behavior calendar will be sent home each night, please review it with your child and initial.
I try to make a homework packet and send it home on Mondays. I know parents are busy, and students have sports. I send the weekly homework home on Mondays and it is due back on Friday.

Complete transportation form & return to Mrs. Lanier
Complete any required paperwork.
Place 2 pencils, 2 erasers, scissors, 1 box of crayons, and 2 glue sticks in your child’s supply box. Place the 3 composition notebooks inside your child’s desk. Please put remaining supplies in Ziploc bag on your child’s desk.
