5 I am the first person your son or daughter sees in the morning. I am your advocate. If I don’t know something is going on I can’t help. Don’t hesitate to keep me informed. PURPOSE OF ADVISORY:

6 What do we do in Advisory? The following are ways that we will use our time in advisory class: 1. Grade check – Every Monday As the advisor I will check progress reports for all subject areas and contact home if students are failing. Students will track their grades in each class to monitor progress throughout the school year. 2. Planner check – Every Monday I make sure students are filling out the agenda/planner. At the beginning of each month we update the planner with upcoming school events.

7 What do we do in Advisory? 3.Discuss issues happening around school Many assemblies are held during advisory 4.Tutorial – 3 days a week Students are selected for tutorial based on subjects that they need work on. Those students who are doing fine in classes get “free time”. 5. Conferences Students will invite you to a student lead conference where they will have the opportunity to share examples of their work, grades, goal, achievements, etc.

8 Required Supplies Recommended Additional supplies: Two-pocket folders (3 hole punched) one for each class. Mini 3-hole punch for binder
