4 How do We Show the WORLD? 3 Types of Map projections
Cylindrical projection shows globe as a cylinder; accurate at equator but distorted at poles Conic projection places a cone over globe; shows east to west areas not far from the equator Planar projection shows Earth from the Center; most of the time it shows North and South poles

5 How do we determine location?
Earth is divided into Hemispheres one of the halves of the 4 Hemispheres Northern (north of Equator) Southern (south of Equator) Eastern( east of Prime Meridian) Western (West of Prime Meridian)

6 Longitude and latitude
aka parallels circle the equator measures distance from Equator Longitude aka meridians measures East and West of Prime Meridian

7 How is time measured? BC “Before Christ”
-left side of timeline goes from high to low AD “Anno Domini” -right side of timeline goes from low to high
