2 Book bags Student can only have the string strapped book bags in the hallways and classrooms. Regular Book bags should be put in your lockers.

3 Criteria for Earning Points (Review)
Behavior: Student responds in a positive manner and controls oneself Follows class and school rules. Courteous to peers and adults. Avoids physical contact. Avoids using inappropriate language. 15 Level 1 Criteria (Changes)
Students end their day at 1:30pm. A successful day is earning at least 48/60 positive character points and no more than 10 disciplinary infractions. 5 consecutive successful days (earning 48 or more points and no more than 10 disciplinary infractions) and passing all classes will earn a student Level 2 status. Students are not eligible to stay for after school activities. If they have a successful day, they have an opportunity to attend the academic recovery room. Kevin

16 Level 2 Criteria (Changes)
Students end their day at 1:30. A successful day is earning at least 51/60 points and no more than 8 disciplinary infractions. 10 consecutive days earning 51 or more points, no more than 8 disciplinary infractions and passing all classes will earn students level 3 status. Students are not eligible to stay for after school activities. If they have a successful day, they have an opportunity to attend the academic recovery room. Kevin

17 Level 3 Criteria (Changes)
Following a successful day at 54 or more points and no more than 6 disciplinary infractions, students are eligible to stay after school for activities consecutive days of earning 54 or more points, no more than 6 disciplinary infractions and passing all classes will earn students level 4 status. 18 Level 4 Criteria (Changes)
-Following a successful day at 56 or more points and no more than 5 disciplinary infractions, students are eligible to stay after school for activities. 10 consecutive days of earning 56 or more points, no more than 5 disciplinary infractions and passing all classes with a C or better will earn students level 5 status. - Following a successful day at 57 or more points and no more than 4 disciplinary infractions, students are eligible to stay after school for activities. -Students must exhibit Level 5 behavior for 15 consecutive days, be earning a C or better in all classes, and have a 90% or better attendance rate, in order to be considered for a transition contract. 20 Absences (Review) Unexcused Absences – Now mentioned on point sheet • If a student receives a full day unexcused absence, the student will lose his/her days on the level they are on. This will be for the first 5 unexcused absences of the semester. • When the student has reached his/her 6th unexcused absence, he/she will drop a level. The parent will also receive a 6 day absence letter in the mail. Every unexcused absence after 6, the student will continue drop his/her level. • Meetings will be scheduled when absences get excessive (5 or more) • If a student has 10 or more absences, the student must have a doctor’s note in order for it to be excused. 23 Using the Point Sheet (Review)
Students must keep point sheets on desk at all times. If a student doesn’t have their point sheet on their desk, they cannot earn points. If point sheet is rolled up, marked, or lost, the student will receive a major infraction, and cannot earn points until point sheet is fixed or found. Student will be required to create a new point sheet and transcribe information before points can be earned again. If a student refuses to give up their point sheet, they may receive a major infraction and referral. Christine

24 Using the Point Sheet (Changes)
If you are observed displaying a negative, the teacher will indicate period and behavior # in the infraction box ASAP. If you receive a 3rd minor infraction, student may be sent to time out for 3-5 minutes to reflect and compose yourself. If the student calms down after 3-5 minutes, they may return to class. Students who receive a major infraction category A will automatically be placed in CIBS for the period if the student is appropriate and completes the reflection activity, they may be dismissed to their next period class. 25 Using the Point Sheet (Changes)
Students who receive a major infraction category B or C will be placed in CIBS until they complete the personal reflection and see the assistant principal. Pending the outcome, the student may remain in CIBS for the day or return to their classes.

26 Other Program Changes cont.
6th Period teachers will have passes to after school programs. The student name, date, and desired activity must be written on them. Students may only attend the program if they have a pass. Any student that misses the bus or arrives at a club without a pass will be sent to the 206 detention room.

29 Bullying Bullying has been added to major category C.

30 Cell phones (point sheet)
Read policy thoroughly 1. Warn student 2. Confiscate Phone will fall under Major A6 (Usage of cell phone) 3. Call security will fall under major B7 [Refusal guided escort, cell phone etc.) Refusal category b is for instances where a guided escort must be used if a student does not give up their cell phone and security must be called.

31 IPADS You are responsible for your IPAD
Any issues with your IPAD must be reported to the technology department immediately. (i.e. theft, broken screen, broken charger etc.) You are expected to charge your IPAD and come to school with a full battery so that you can maximize your learning time while in the classroom.
