4 Counselor Role The SRVHS counselors assist students in achieving success in all aspects of their lives. Counselors help students throughout high school, providing individual, ongoing guidance on academic, personal, extracurricular, and post-secondary options.

8 FLEXIBLE SCHOOL START AND END TIMES
How: Students will choose from the following schedules What: Students will have the option of: Standard School Day Late-Start School Day Early-Release Day Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 5 classes Students may be enrolled in a maximum of 7 classes (space available/special program) Students may not be on campus during an unscheduled period A full SRV schedule: A – 6 (space available) A – 5 1 – 6 If taking a non-district course, your SRV schedule will be: A – 4 1 – 5 2 - 6

11 ACCREDITED ONLINE COURSES AND OFF-CAMPUS CLASSES (non-district courses)
What: Students have the ability to put up to 40 credits of non-SRVUSD coursework on their high school transcripts, including graduation requirements. How: Go to srvusd.net, Personalized Learning tab

A place to work on homework A class to earn an “easy A” AVID is a college preparatory elective program that develops: Strategies for reading, writing, critical thinking, speaking and organization Effective habits, skills, & behaviors Readiness for rigorous & advanced placement courses Emphasis on being eligible for a four-year college!

Orientation about high school resource programs will be presented by SRVHS Resource Teachers at middle school campuses in early March. Please contact your current resource teacher for specific times Note: Tutorial class only open to SpEd students

Course Selection Course Selection will be done on the Infinite Campus Parent/Student Portal – Mar. 9–18th The High School Course Catalog will be available at Click on Course Selection Tab then High School Course Catalog Follow the directions on the Campus Online Registration Instructions Sheet Return the forms to your Middle School Counselor by 3/19

21 Online Course Selection Instructions
The online course registration window will be open from March 9–March 18th. Log in to the Infinite Campus Student/Parent Portal URL User name = District Login user name (ex. cw.csmith) Password = ID# with student ID (ex. ID#000000) Click Log in. This will bring you to the main portal page. Your first visit to the Campus Portal, you will be prompted to change your password. Important - Please make sure you record your password for future use. On the left hand side of the screen, under student name, click “Registration: 18-19”. Click “Course Search” at the top next to San Ramon Valley High School. “Search by” will appear, Click the “Go” button and a list of courses will appear or type in course name to narrow the list. The course will appear on the right side of the screen, if this is the correct course, click on it. The course will then appear on the bottom of the screen followed by 2 boxes “Request this Course” and “Request as an Alternate” select one. Repeat number 4-6 for each class choice. Selections must match your Course Request Form. For semester courses pick 2 courses to complete the year, (“z” in the course code denotes spring semester.) If you do not want 7 classes select - Unscheduled “A” Fall and Unscheduled “A” Spring . If you do want a 7th class go to repeat the “Search” and “Request this Course”. Please select two alternate courses in the event your first requests are unavailable. Each course should appear in the list on the left of the screen under the appropriate category: Requested Courses OR Alternate Courses. After each course selection click on “Course Search” and resume the process to select each course. If a course requires an election, you must select a different course at this time. You will be placed in the course after elections/additions have occurred. Your selections will automatically save as you go through the steps listed above. If at any time during the scheduling window, you decide to make a change, click on the course in your list that you want to change. “Drop This Request” will appear, click on “Drop This Request”. The course will be removed from your list, you may leave your list as is or return to the “Course Search” and make a new selection. You may print a copy of the course selection for your records, you do not need to turn it in with your Course Selection Sheet. Sign out of the portal once registration is complete. Turn in your yellow form to your Middle School Counselor by 3/19/18

All 9th grade students must sign up for at least 6 classes, a 7th class is optional. Choose your elective class carefully. Please fill out this form completely. Limitations in the master schedule, class sizes, and low enrollment may affect your primary choices. Students must indicate alternate choices below.
