Read a variety of genres throughout the year Respond to reading in class and for homework. Analyze story elements Utilize strategies to self-monitor reading and improve comprehension and fluency Select just right books (JRB- five finger rule)-independent reading level

Total of 50 minutes each night (20 minutes is included in this) Read 20 minutes each night Math review from class Long term assignments with be sent home with dates Please send in a note if homework takes too long or is too difficult Pink Slips

All homework will be posted each and every night on the fifth grade page. Students will receive a weekly “homework log” Virtual Library 5th Grade page pages/
