3. Agency Mission To make New Mexico
the fastest growing state in the nation
when it comes to student outcomes
– measured by the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP), Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC), graduation rate, and
postsecondary remediation.

4. Business Need
Currently PED does not have a way to effectively deliver this information as required to comply with Federal and State law
PED is trying to affect educational success in New Mexico by making relevant data accessible to all stakeholders

5. Project Overview
PED has selected Software as a Service (SaaS) products previously researched and developed by Spotlight, Tembo, and national partners.
The SaaS solution integrates PED transmitted aggregate school grading data to create customized videos by school in multiple languages to help parents understand how their student’s school is performing.
Also provided is an interactive dashboard that links parents to school grades, teacher effectiveness, and other important information about their student’s school.

6. Project Overview (cont.)
The PED will contract with RESPEC, an existing State Wide Price agreement vendor, to subcontract with 2 vendors: Spotlight and Tembo for the delivery of video-based reporting and interactive dashboard.
In providing these tools to parents, New Mexico will:
Become the first State in the nation to come into compliance with the new Federal Law.
Create more informed parents and families about school and student performance.
