Background:
Rainsford finds himself on Ship Trap Island after falling off a yacht. 2

3. Rising Action
Rainsford falls off of the yacht and into the ocean after hearing a pistol shot in the distance.
He swims in the direction of the shot and finds Ship Trap Island.
Rainsford meets General Zaroff and Ivan on the island.
The General treats Rainsford to dinner and sleep. 3

4. Conflict
Rainsford is trapped on the island with General Zaroff who proposes a hunting
game that lasts three days. Rainsford is forced to run from General Zaroff while the general tries to kill him. 4
