DESIGN A CRANIUM One of the characteristics shared by all VERTEBRATES is a protective covering around their brain and nerve cord. Use the materials provided to design a covering that will protect your “brain” from injury when dropped.

SAMPLING You have 2 minutes to catch as many “flying organisms” as you can 1st, 2nd, 3rd will be awarded based on number of organisms caught

ENERGY PYRAMID Each tribe member needs a cup and should stand on a designated spot. Each tribe will get 2 min to try and get as much water as possible in the final/empty bucket, by passing the water through the cup of each member of the tribe. Water can’t be passed to the next person until their cup is empty. Each person represents a trophic level and each cup has a hole in it to demonstrate the energy transfer efficiency. The tribe with the most water in their top trophic level (bucket at the end) wins! This activity modified from SURVIVOR by

PREDATORS & PREY You have 2 minutes to “catch” members from other teams by breaking their balloons. 1st, 2nd, 3rd will be awarded based on number of survivors on each team when time is called.

You have 20 minutes to WRITE a detailed description of what you see so that your team mates reading your description will be able to build it. Completed object will be awarded point for the most pieces in the correct position

ESCAPE FROM ISLAND Your team has been shipwrecked on a desert island. Your task is to design a “boat” using the materials provided that will allow the most “people” to escape. ttp://

SCAVENGER HUNT Points will be awarded for each object found.
Find and photograph as many objects on the list provided. Points will be awarded for each object found.

VOCAB MATCH You have 3 minutes to match as many vocab words with their definitions as you can. 1st, 2nd, 3rd will be awarded based on number of words matched
