1 Volunteering is F-U-N

2 REGATTA VOLUNTEERS   These positions are to work at the regattas at Sandy Run on Saturday mornings.   Each position earns 5 service hours. These are towards the totals because they’re earned after the February deadline.  

3 Sign up to work a specific position
Provide phone number where I can reach you on Regatta Day Job descriptions are on the website.

4 ALTERNATES Alternates are agreeing to the postion listed, but may need to work any position. You will get service hours, but must work if called - even if on morning of regatta or at regatta. Alternates provide cell phone number so you can be reached.

5 You will receive a reminder email from SignUp Genius
before the regatta.

6 Robinson is fined $50 and we pass that fine along to you.

7 Training is required for
Launch Drivers only

8 Robinson provides this training.
There’s a sign up sheet if you are interested in being trained.

9 Sign up sheets will be on Signup Genius.

10 REGATTA VOLUNTEER POINTERS
Go see Sandy Run ahead of time. Saturday morning practices are a good time to get acquainted with the layout of the place.

11 30 minutes for small regattas
Plan time to park, shuttle over, sign in and get to the job site at starting time At least : 30 minutes for small regattas 1 hour for big regattas.

12 Volunteers still have to pay to park if you choose not to take the shuttle!

13 Sign in at Regatta Headquarters
That’s the white tent on right before you hit the water! Tent says VOLUNTEER SIGN IN sign attendance sheet sign insurance waiver Pick up a life vest if needed Report to your station Have fun

14 Remain flexible – you may be reassigned to another job
Please turn off cell phones DO NOT WEAR RED Dress for the weather keep dry clothes in car

15 All positions on the water must wear a PFD (lifejacket)

16 Concessions people sign in twice
once at VOLUNTEER SIGN IN TENT and again at CONCESSIONS STAND.

17 Do not bring children or pets to your shift.
If you work during your child’s race please ask the volunteer coordinator at your position for a break to attend the race. You must come back to your position immediately after the race! NO END TIME LISTED means until the end (of the regatta - the course is set up - the course is taken down.) Do not leave until you are released.

18 Check the website www.vasra.org
Friday night for projected end time of regatta especially jobs that go “until job is done”

19 If there is a problem……. call or text me! Don’t leave me hanging!
