External High School/Adult School Partners are actively supporting WSSNCC –Increased the number of first time students who receive assessments, counseling, one on one advising, and follow up.

Campus participation in low and high touch services (bundled) – Students are not actively being referred or seeking high touch follow-up financial literacy services.
Future Plans – Develop a Campus Resource Center to expose students to a one stop shop for services.
Expansion of external partner supporting engagement – Partners are conducting workshops (low touch) but have limited opportunities for personal interaction (high touch).
Future Plans – Develop a Campus Resource Center to house external partners monthly/weekly on-campus outreach.

6. Porterville College’s External Opportunities for WSSN
Expansion of Dual Enrollment Students in Workforce Development Courses– Curriculum has been designed that embeds career/life planning skills within the CTE certificate and degree courses.
Future Plans – Deans are meeting with high school principals (P8) to discuss expansion of college course to all area (feeder) high schools to aid student in receiving college course credit.
Online Student Orientation System – EAB program is being piloted to embed financial literacy into orientation sessions.
Future Plans – We are using the software to direct students to support services based on their profile and responses during the session.

7. Porterville College External Threats for WSSN
Reduction in Categorical Funding – Sustainability of WSSN services, support staff, and funding are tied directly to State funding. Any reduction in funding will impact ability to provide student support.
Future Plans – We are exploring grant opportunities to diversify funding services.
