After everyone in their group is through with the article, they should discuss the information they highlighted. Groups could create a T-chart with information about new versions of Shakespeare’s plays on one side and possible reasons for the changes made on the other side. They should use their discussion to draw conclusions about why Shakespeare’s stories have been retold so many times. Distribute a fairy tale and a retold tale to which it corresponds. Students should read both tales and complete the graphic organizer with their group. On a post it, they should write one way what they learned today connects to what they have been learning in class during this unit. Have each group share one piece of information from their post-it with the class.
