Monday March 8, 2013 What is on the exam?: Personal Pronoun chart 8 parts of speech memorized Identify parts of speech in a sentence basic diagramming Definitions of: sentence, grammar, predicate, subject Vocabulary Lessons 13-24 A few Shakespeare & Romeo and Juliet questions The Pearl To Kill A Mockingbird & key literary terms used during the MP/year Watch the movie with critical eye for characterization. Home Work: Write a characterization extended paragraph. Multi paragraphs if you like. Cited sources not necessary tonight.

Write a Characterization Paragraph Choose One: due Tuesday March 9,2013 Atticus, Calpurnia, Scout, Jem, Tom Robinson Make a statement (thesis)about the character. Consider their ethics, morals, beliefs, their position in society and take a position as to what you have observed about their character. Then give examples of their actions Give examples of what others say about them Not required tonight but if you do cite: Cite your sources with page numbers after quotes~ “…” (27).

Wednesday March 10 Students pull old papers from files and use a rubric to self grade. Teacher directed walk through of how final paper will be graded. Basic Grammar Parts of speech / diagram Introduce last buddy lesson to students so we go in prepared.
