7 Attendance It’s the LAW!
Failure to attend school on a regular basis may result in loss of credit and/or court action. Math Department Lose two points on your homework average for every class you are absent from.

8 Schedule/Classes High school classes are 84 minutes in length
You have three classes from Aug-Jan and then you have three different classes from Jan-June Additionally, you have two classes that meet every other day, but they meet all year

9 Schedule/Classes You will have: English Environmental Science
Health/PE and Writing Skills Workshop (.50 credits each) World History/Government Math Semester 1 Math Semester 2 Elective (Special)

10 Schedule/Classes A and D blocks rotate.
There are two B block classes and they alternate daily. C block class does not change.

13 Grade Point Average Each letter grade has a numerical value assigned to it from 0 to 4.3 (Honors and Advanced Placement Classes are weighted from 0 to 5.4). Honor Roll/High Honors Class Rank College Acceptance Scholarships Sports

15 Lunches There are two different lunches.
Lunches are either at the start of your C-block class (third period) or at the end of your C-block class. Lunches are mixed with students from grades 9-12.

16 In the Morning Students enter through the main entrance.
Must be in homeroom by 8:00 a.m.

17 Remember It’s a clean start… What you do today, will impact tomorrow…
Keep all of your doors open for you…make good choices and decisions.

2) How do you earn credit? 3) Why is attendance important? 4) What happens if you miss a lot of school? 5) How does performance in 9th grade classes impact college? 6) What does it mean by a fresh start?

22 Review Answers 1) Earn at least 6 credits (preferably all 8 credits)
2) By earning a passing grade in each class 3) Perform better in school, more opportunities, avoids loss of credit and/or legal trouble 4) Credit can be taken away (thus repeating the grade level), Possible legal issues 5) College acceptance decisions, financial aid 6) New opportunities, it’s a clean slate
