2 Replaces the Post-Secondary Enrollment Options Program (PSEOP) Allows eligible students in grades 7-12 to enroll in non- religious, non-remedial courses through a college/university in Ohio and earn both high school and college credit College courses may be taken on the campus of the college, online through the college, or at the high school (for select courses)

3 ▪Allows students to earn college credit while in high school at little to no cost to the student. ▪Expands the curriculum available to students ▪Allows students to experience college-level work/life prior to making final decisions about whether and/or where to attend college

4 ▪May reduce opportunities for participating in high school activities ▪GPA, grades, and credits earned with CC+ can impact future financial aid eligibility. ▪CC+ coursework will be permanent marks on the student’s college transcript.

5 ▪Possible effects on GPA and class standing ▪Increased time for travel, study, etc. ▪The possibility of exposure to adult content and information (social discomfort) ▪College instructors deal directly with students, not parents, when a concern arises

6 ▪Students at the college level are usually held to a higher degree of responsibility by instructors than students in high school. ▪Grades in a college class are often determined by as few as one to three exams/research papers. ▪Students who need support services while participating in CC+ should utilize the available support services at the institution they are attending. ▪It is not the responsibility of the NB teaching staff to assist with CC+ coursework.

7 ▪Pathways have been developed where students can choose to earn up to 15-30 college credits per school year. ▪These pathways are only examples of what student schedules could look like. ▪The maximum total number of credit hours possible through CC+ is 120 hrs

11 ▪High School credit will be awarded toward both the graduation and subject area requirements of the school district Comparable courses/credit Ex: Composition I transfers as HS English

12 Option A: Student is responsible for all expenses May enroll for college credit only or for both college and high school credit May use this option to take courses beyond the yearly allowable credit limit Option B: Enroll for both high school and college credit Student is not responsible for course expenses through a public institution Private institutions may charge student a fee per credit hour Students are responsible for parking fees

13 ▪If the superintendent determines that the participant has not attained a passing final grade in a college course which the participant was enrolled under Option B, the superintendent shall seek reimbursement from the participant or the participant’s parents for the amount paid to the college on behalf of the participant for that college course. The district may withhold grades and credits until the financial obligation is met.

17 ▪No high school graduation requirement may be waived for any student as a result of participating in this program including the Honors Diploma. ▪Scheduling conflicts are not the responsibility of the school district. ▪Other issues relevant to scheduling will vary from district to district, and should be identified as appropriate. ▪The academic schedule of the college may differ from your high school schedule. Many times Christmas and Spring Breaks do no coincide and therefore you may have to forfeit your vacation plans.

18 ▪Students enrolled part-time on a college campus must have a full schedule between their CC+ and High School courses. ▪Athletes must still meet OHSAA eligibility requirements. Full-time CC+ students should consider their GPA and course load to meet these requirements.
