Clinical v. Counseling Psychologists
Works with those with psychological disorders, anxiety or depression Have a PhD.; may work in hospitals, prisons, private clinics Differs from a psychiatrist – no medical degree, cannot prescribe medication Counseling: Works with those who have adjustment problems Have PhD; may work on a college campus or private practice Works to help clients clarify goals and identify/solve conflicts; adjust to life challenges

Work to help school identify students who learning difficulties Administer tests and make recommendations for special education Educational: Helps whole schools to improve student learning Focus on motivation, cultural influences, economic factors and instructional methods
