Over the past few weeks you have been using past tense verbs.
You practiced using simple past of both regular and irregular verbs
You learned that regular verbs used ed to form their past tense.
Examples: walk > walked, listen > listened
You also learned that irregular verbs formed their past tense by changing their spelling.
Examples: sleep > slept, go > went, take > took
You also practice using the past tense of the be verb.

Here is a list of irregular verbs. Can you tell me the past tense?

Future tense is used to talk about things that will happen after now.
We use future tense to talk about activities that we plan to do in the future.
(tomorrow, next week, next month, after class, this evening, etc.)

6. Future Tense Verbs
To form future tense you can use the following sentence constructions.
1. Subject + will + base verb >> David will travel for vacation.
2. Subject + am/is + going to + base verb >> David is going to travel for vacation.
3. Subject + progressive tense >> David is traveling for vacation.
(You learned number 3 last semester, remember?)

7. Questions Using Future Tense
To form questions using future tense is really easy. Most of the time native English speakers use going to when asking questions about future plans.
1. who >> Who are you going to visit during Chusok? >> I’m going to visit my grandparents during Chusok.
2. what >> What movie are you going to see? >> I’m going to see Wonder Woman.
3. when >> When are you going to do your homework? >> I’m going to do my homework after I get home.
4. where >> Where are you going to meet for dinner? >> We are going to meet in front of the school.
5. why >> Why are you going to go to Seoul tomorrow? >>I am going to Seoul to see my doctor.
6. how >> How are you going to get there? >> I am going to go by KTX.

8. Let’s Practice Making Questions
Can you think of any questions to ask about Chusock? Use the following verbs to ask questions about Chusok plans. Use the following construction: Question word + future tense words + verb + during Chusok.

9. Questions with to be & will
To form questions using the to be verb, use the following structure.
To be + subject + going to + verb

Is he going to go to his hometown for Chusok?
To form questions using will, use the following structure.
Will + subject + verb
Will you go to the movie tonight?
Will she travel during the holidays?

11. What if you are not sure?
If you are not sure about your future plans, you can use the words might and probably.
Might is followed by the base verb. DO NOT USE will or going to when using might.
I might go to Seoul during the holidays.
I might see a movie.
I might stay home.
Probably follows the verb will and the base verb follows probably.
I will probably go to Seoul during the holidays.
I will probably see a movie tonight.
I will probably stay home during Chusok.
