How and when to use Present Continuous tense to talk about things that are happening now and temporary situations

3. Why are you looking at your phone all the time?

I am waiting for her to call.
Are you enjoying staying with your cousin?
I usually wake up late… so now I am waking up early.
I am eating so much chocolate, but usually I try not to.
+ Subject + be (am/is/are) + Ving
Subject + be (am/is/are) + not + Ving
? Be + subject + Ving?
I am = I’m You are = you’re he is = he’s she is = she’s it is = it’s
we are = we’re they are = they’re

We use the Present Continuous to talk about actions that are happening right now or around now.
At the moment, this week, this month, this year

I am watching an English language video.
I am sitting in front of a screen.
I am listening to Tamara and Yuliya.

6. I usually wake up late… so now I am waking up early.
I am eating so much chocolate now, but usually I try not to.
We use the Present Continuous to talk about temporary situations.

7. Oliver works as an accountant. Now he is travelling around the world.

Eat English breakfast very fast

Words that describe senses: see, hear, taste, smell, feel.
Verbs connected with feelings and emotions: dislike, love, prefer, want, wish.
Verbs connected with thinking and opinions: understand, believe, imagine, guess.
