Garza Elementary students participated in various wellness events such as Relay for life. Garza cheerleaders participate actively throughout the school year. During Red Ribbon Week Garza has various dress up days to encourage saying no to drugs. Garza students and parents were involved in vairous runs during the year.

Students at Garza are given the opportunity to acquire throughout variety of activities and programs such as guest speaker Illustrator Flores, Manager of Dairy Queen gave their time to come and encourage our students in different events. Garza encourages students to give back to their community by participating in events such as canned food drive and build a bear donations. Garza also gave out several backpacks at the beginning of school.

Garza hosted our annual 5th Grade Career Day introducing students to various careers and jobs in our community. College days were also observed with each week representing a different college.

Garza provides afterschool tutorial, extended day, guest speakers to prevent drop out and encouraging student achievement. Many community members were seen several times a year talking to the students about a career goal in life.
