2 Del Castillo Elementary School Fine Arts Program rated Exemplary The Fine Arts Program rated Exemplary Del Castillo Elementary offers Art and Music class as part of the Fine Arts program. In addition to the classes offered during the day, the students have an opportunity to participate in a variety of Fine Arts programs, clubs, and events. Our students compete in UIL Art and Music Memory. They have competed and placed in various art contests. Our Choir, Cheer Team, Drill Team, and Ballroom Dancers have performed throughout the year for our parents and community.

3 Del Castillo Elementary School Wellness and Physical Education Program rated Exemplary The Wellness and Physical Education Program rated Exemplary Del Castillo Elementary students are part of the Coordinated Approach to Children’s Health. We want to lead a healthy lifestyle. In addition, our students are part of the fitness gram and take part in race competitions throughout the year. Furthermore, the campus promotes health fairs, hosts blood drives and participates in Red Ribbon Week events.

4 Del Castillo Elementary School Community & Parental Involvement Program rated Recognized Community and Parental Involvement Program rated Recognized Throughout the year, Del Castillo Elementary conducted parent activities. The Parent Center met weekly to create resources that were going to assist our students to prepare for the state assessments. In addition, our campus participated in Community Service projects, such as the food drive, the Veteran’s Day Ceremony, and the American Heart Contributions.

5 Del Castillo Elementary School 21 st Century Workforce Development rated Exemplary College & Career Readiness rated Exemplary At Del Castillo Elementary, each classroom represents a college/ university of their choice. The students research and learn about the university. Each classroom has the opportunity to highlight their university on a weekly basis. Career Day events take place throughout the year for different grade levels.

6 Del Castillo Elementary School Dropout Prevention Strategies rated Exemplary After school tutorials, 21 st Century Program rated Exemplary At Del Castillo Elementary, tutorials and interventions are offered throughout the year. Tutorial classes are offered in the morning and afterschool. Supper meals are offered afterschool on Tutorial days. Our goal is to increase attendance rates and decrease retention rates.

7 Del Castillo Elementary School Second Language Acquisition rated Exemplary English as a Second Language programs rated Exemplary ELL students are provided with cultural awareness experiences throughout the year. ELL students receive the supplemental academic support needed to be successful. Our campus continues to participate in the HEB Read 3 program.

8 Del Castillo Elementary School Digital Learning Environment rated Recognized Technology integration rated Recognized All students at Del Castillo Elementary have an opportunity to attend the computer lab once a week. In addition, to the computer lab, all the 5 th grade classrooms have laptops available for each student. Technology is integrated into the curriculum on a daily basis.

9 Del Castillo Elementary School Educational Programs for G/T rated Recognized Gifted and Talented program rated Recognized The Gifted and Talented students at Del Castillo Elementary demonstrate academic excellence. The GT students have varied opportunities throughout the year to participate in showcase events. Furthermore, the campus offers parent meetings to share galaxy program information.
