1 S4 – 6 Prelims Information Assembly

2 Prelims Prelims will run from Monday 23rd January until Wednesday 1st February It is likely you will have more than one prelim in a day – we are trying to squeeze 4 weeks of SQA exams into 8 school days Most prelims in the first week will be held in the Games Hall Prelims in the second week will be held in classrooms During the prelim exams, you must wear full school uniform as normal.

3 Prelims at other schools/college
If you have a prelim at another school, you should know the date of this. Please see me if you do not know the date of your prelim, or if there is a clash with a prelim you will be sitting here

4 Assessment Arrangements
If you have extra arrangements for your exams, such as ICT or extra time, please see Ms Bendall before the end of term.

5 Invigilators During exams, invigilators ensure things run smoothly
During the prelims, teachers will be invigilators for the exams

6 On the day of the exam… Ensure you arrive at the Games Hall or classroom where your exam will take place in plenty of time – at least 10 minutes before the exam starts If you arrive late, you may not be allowed to sit the exam You will have an assigned seat during the exam – make sure you check your seat number and sit in the correct seat

7 On the day of the exam… Make sure your mobile phone is not on you. Phones and other similar portable devices are not allowed in the exam room. Best advice – leave them at home. Make sure you have the necessary exam supplies, such as pens and a calculator. Bring a bottle of water to keep you hydrated and focused. Ask if you're unsure what you need. Listen carefully to the exam invigilators' and teachers' instructions before, during and after the exam. Follow instructions about all unauthorised materials and equipment, including phones.

8 During the Exam Be quiet once the exam starts. Talking to, or disturbing, other students is not allowed. If you have a question, feel sick or need to leave the room, raise your hand and wait for an invigilator to come to you.

9 Study leave Study leave will last 6 days – Monday 23rd January until Monday 30th January (inclusive). All pupils will be back in school on Tuesday 31st January. If you are sitting fewer than 3 prelims, you are entitled to the day before the prelim exam and the day of the exam as study leave. You should attend classes as normal out with these days.
