Consists of four sections – English, Math, Reading and Science and an optional Writing section
A score of 22 is considered an average score for college admissions
ACT scores are used to determine State of Michigan Scholarships (must be taken by December of senior year).

6. Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) www.collegeboard.com
Critical Reading, Math and Writing sections
Scores can range from per section
Mean/average score is 500 on each section
A combined score of 1500 (out of 2400) is considered average for college
Add zero to end of scores on PSAT to compare with future potential SAT scores
This test is preferred by the highly selective and eastern schools
Be sure to also register for the SAT II’s per the requirements of the universities you are interested in.

19. Senioritis/Anxiety
Colleges look at senior grades--may rescind admissions offers if performance declines
Anxiety is expected—keep talking and helping your senior to problem solve—give them lots of encouragement
Recognize the difference between anxiety and severe depression
Let them know that nothing is permanent—there is always the freedom to change plans
