The Konftel 300Wx is a replacement to and an updated version of the Konftel 300W. This wireless conference phone is designed for the market segment: Medium to large conference rooms. The DECT supports CAT-iq and it’s equipped with expansion capabilities.
The Konftel 300Wx allows you to hold conference calls where and when it is convenient – without worrying about phone jacks and power outlets.

Put simply, CAT-iq is a digital enhancement of DECT. A CAT-iq system supports 7 kHz audio bandwidth and thus offers excellent capacity for wireless connections to a VoIP system.
CAT-iq stands for Cordless Advanced Technology, Internet and Quality, and is the new global technology designed for IP-voice services in the next generation networks. CAT-iq is based on the regulatory framework of the mature and reliable DECT technology. It is fully backward compatible to DECT GAP and, as the new cordless phone standard, focuses on high quality Audio VoIP (wideband) as well as low bit-rate data applications as the next generation Cordless Phone standard.
Konftel 300Wx supports the Cat-iq 2.1 security features, which mean Re-Keying and early encryption not supported by DECT and earlier releases of CAT-iq.

Q: Which PBX’s will be Konftel 300Wx interoperability tested?
A: The Konftel 300Wx is compatible with GAP/CAT-iq DECT systems. A list of tested systems is available on the Konftel web Oct 15th.

Procedure for re-keying:
Re-keying is the action of changing of the active cipher key during an ongoing encrypted call. The FP shall only trigger a re-keying procedure in case the PP indicated support of the re-keying mechanism in the <<TERMINAL CAPABILITY>> information element. For re-keying during an encrypted call, the FP uses the "Authentication of a PT“ procedure to generate a new derived cipher key and then triggers the cipher-switching initiated by FT procedure.
Procedure for early encryption with the default cipher key: After assignment of a default cipher key by means of the "Authentication of a PT" procedure, there is no cipher switching on NWK layer required for activation of encryption with the default cipher key. In the following, MAC layer can activate encryption with the default cipher key by itself, e.g. directly after connection establishment.
